PRESIDENT

Kailash Kasal started his business endeavours with a chain of successful convenience stores in Toronto, which he grew and managed. Kasal then went on to acquire and grow a portfolio of gas stations.

Over the past 25 years, Kasal has been focusing primarily on acquiring and investing in a portfolio of successful branded hotels in Ontario and Quebec. He is involved in every aspect of the transaction, including sourcing the right properties that fit our strategy to closing and managing the operations. Prior to formally founding K2 Group, he has been the key investor and architect behind one the fastest growing hospitality and development companies in Canada. 

Kasal has a Bachelor’s of Engineering and a Masters in Marketing. He is also very engaged in the local community, through philanthropic efforts and building relationships.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

As Managing Director of K2 Group, Thomas Jacob brings a strategic focus on real estate, hospitality, and alternative assets across North America. He leads the firm’s capital allocation, portfolio strategy, and operational oversight with a long-term view toward value creation, risk-adjusted returns, and disciplined growth.

A seasoned investor and entrepreneur, Thomas has built and backed ventures across the energy, consumer, and technology sectors. As a founding partner of Sunly Energy, he helped scale the company from inception and continues to invest actively in high-growth businesses. His portfolio includes strategic positions in healthcare innovation, notably Braxia Health - a leading, fully integrated medical clinic + pharmacy specializing in innovative mental health care.

Thomas brings an institutional mindset to entrepreneurial platforms, emphasizing governance, capital preservation, and mission-aligned investing. He is a QuantumShift Fellow from Ivey Business School and is currently completing the Owner/President Management (OPM) program at Harvard. He holds a degree in International Economics & Business Management, is a member of YPO, and is an advocate for philanthropic initiatives across Canada.
