K2 Group Unveils IHOP Grand Opening Weekend, Bringing its World-Famous Pancakes and Delicious Diner-Style Food
K2 Group, a leading Canadian investment firm announces the grand opening weekend celebration of the new IHOP Belleville restaurant, located at the iconic 10 Acre Truck Stop in Belleville, Ontario. The celebration will begin on Thursday, April 20th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and throughout the weekend, there will be numerous fun activities for both truckers and families alike, including meet-and-greets with IHOP staff, giveaways, and exciting events for kids.
The Belleville location open 6am – 8pm daily and spanning over 4000 square feet, will serve IHOP’s famous buttermilk pancakes and classic diner-style foods. Canadians may recognize the location, situated on the former 10 Acre truck stop, one of Canada’s largest truck stops, opened in 1977 just off Highway 401, Exit 538 on Wallbridge Loyalist Road.
K2 Group has plans to open five additional IHOP restaurants in Ontario, including locations in Hamilton, Waterloo, London, and Windsor, as part of a non-traditional development agreement with Dine Brands International, a full-service dining company that franchises IHOP and Applebee’s restaurants in Canada. Kailash Kasal, President of K2 Group, envisions opening a minimum of five IHOP restaurants over the next five years in Ontario.
The acquisition of the landmark 10 Acre Truck Stop in Belleville in May 2021 by K2 Group has already led to increased traffic at the location, and the IHOP opening will only serve to further the group's commitment to serving the 10 Acre truckers and the Belleville community. With an investment of CAD $3 million, the new restaurant will employ over 60 staff and seat up to 184 guests.
The inaugural IHOP Belleville location will be a one-of-a-kind restaurant and one of the first IHOPs to open in Ontario outside of Niagara Falls.
