PRESIDENT

Kailash Kasal started his business endeavours with a chain of successful convenience stores in Toronto, which he grew and managed. Kasal then went on to acquire and grow a portfolio of gas stations.

Over the past 25 years, Kasal has been focusing primarily on acquiring and investing in a portfolio of successful branded hotels in Ontario and Quebec. He is involved in every aspect of the transaction, including sourcing the right properties that fit our strategy to closing and managing the operations. Prior to formally founding K2 Group, he has been the key investor and architect behind one the fastest growing hospitality and development companies in Canada. 

Kasal has a Bachelor’s of Engineering and a Masters in Marketing. He is also very engaged in the local community, through philanthropic efforts and building relationships.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Thomas Jacob is the Managing Director of K2 Group. As a strategic leader, he has been instrumental in scaling the group's operations, driving acquisitions, and unlocking value in high-potential markets.

A seasoned entrepreneur and investor, Thomas has co-founded and backed multiple ventures, including Sunly Energy, a leader in residential solar installation, maintenance, and financing, and Contrabande, a venture capital firm that empowers ambitious founders with capital and creative ingenuity. Over the course of his career, he has successfully built and exited two companies, transforming them from early-stage ventures into thriving, sustainable businesses.

Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in International Economics & Business Management and is a QuantumShift graduate from Ivey Business School. He is currently undertaking the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School.

Beyond business, Thomas is an active member of YPO, deeply engaged in his community, and a committed supporter of various charitable organizations across Canada.
